What is salt therapy?
Salt therapy is a scientifically-proven treatment for respiratory and skin conditions.
Salt rooms and halotherapy are a fairly new practice here in the States, but in Europe they are well known as salt caves, given their origins from salt mines where salt therapy was discovered. Instead of the confined and enclosed European salt caves, we have created a calming spa-like environment for our salt rooms in order to give clients a tranquil atmosphere where they can relax while benefiting from the salt therapy.
Every wall surface and the floor, is covered with natural rock salt to create a sterilized and negative ion environment. The Salt Room Of Kewaskum also uses the newest top-of-the-line halogenerators to crush pharmaceutical grade salt into small particles for inhalation creating the microclimate.
Each salt therapy session at The Salt Room Of Kewaskum lasts 45 minutes. You can read a book or even take a nap while relaxing to the calming background music playing in the room. Your comfort is ensured by our Zero-Gravity, NASA inspired recliners. With your feet elevated at your heart-level or slightly above, this position puts the least amount of strain on the spine neutralizing the effects of gravity. The Zero-Gravity recliners allow you to relax while you’re seated and lets the discs in your spine return to their normal shape.

For more than 20 years dry salt aerosol, administered in specially-designed salt therapy has been used to treat upper and lower respiratory conditions such as cold and flu, allergy, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, sinus infection, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever and emphysema. =Our rooms bring the natural benefits of salt treatment to you and take them one step further by providing the ideal concentration of dry sodium chloride aerosol to treat your specific condition. Rooms are supplied with fresh air filtered by HEPA air filters that capture and remove up to 99.97 percent of all airborne particles and activated carbon filters that further remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can have a negative effect on health.
Family Room – Our family salt therapy room accommodates up to four clients (5 if needed), is used with families and children. Children are able to play on the salt floor’s with toys as they would play on a beach or in a sand box. The family room sessions begin on the hour. *This room is also handicap accessible*
Serenity Room – Our Serenity Salt Room accommodates up to three clients and is used for adults only. Our serenity room is a quiet room. Quiet meditation, reading and sleeping are fine. Please be respectful and considerate of others in this group session. We encourage you to sit back, unplug and unwind during your session. The Serenity Room sessions begin on the half hour.
